Peter lives in Davenport, is married to Claire and has 3 children, all of which went to GMIS. He was elected Parent Governor in 2008 and is now a co-opted governor. He currently serves as Vice Chair and Health & Safety Governor and is a member of the Personnel & Finance Committee and Standards Committee.
As Vice Chair Peter supports the Chair of Governors and acts in their absence. In his role as Health & Safety Governor he helps to ensure that school staff and premises comply with the local authority’s health and safety policy and practices.
Peter is a founding director of an architectural & surveying practice and has particular knowledge and extensive experience working in the education sector – securing funding for, designing, constructing, maintaining and transforming schools into innovative learning environments that inspire pupils to achieve more. He advises individual Schools and Academies, Multi Academy Trusts, Diocese and other education establishments on Estate Strategy, offering specialised educational asset management service and advice. He has successfully secured millions of pounds of EFA funding for local schools.
Peter finds serving as school governor to be a great opportunity to contribute to the local community and have a positive influence on children’s lives, education and life chances. He offers enthusiasm and commitment together with business skills that the school might find particularly helpful.
In his spare time Peter enjoys spending time with his family, DIY and endeavoring to keep fit.
