Who Are The PTFA?

The PTFA is the Parent, Teachers and Friends Association. This is a group of volunteers who run a number of events throughout the school year, both for fun, and to raise additional funds for Great Moor Infant School. The school, like all schools, receives its allocation of funds from the local education authority, and via central government for standard costs such as salaries, buildings maintenance and other things it requires for the school to operate on a day-to-day basis. The funds raised by the PTFA allow the school to provide that little bit extra. For example, much of what has been raised via the PTFA in the last few years has contributed to the schools spend on I.T. equipment, ensuring that all pupils benefit from things such as interactive white boards in every classroom.

The activities of the PTFA make a genuine difference to what Great Moor Infant School can provide for its children. By definition, every parent of a child attending Great Moor Infant School is a member of the PTFA by default. What we are not is an exclusive clique – so if you have an active interest in contributing to your child’s school, please come down to one of our meetings (there’s only one per half term), where you will be most welcome. Alternately you can volunteer to help out at one of the schools events.

For more information please ask at the school’s office or visit Facebook Great Moor Schools PTFA.
