SEND & Inclusion
Information for Parents/Carers of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
At Great Moor Infant School one of our core values is “inclusion”. All of our children are unique and deserve the opportunity to reach their potential during their time with us and beyond.
The SEND process in Great Moor Infant School is a cyclical process of:
- Identifying the strengths and needs of our children
- Planning bespoke support to encourage their strengths and overcome their barriers
- Delivering bespoke support to encourage their strengths and overcome their barriers
- Reviewing progress and celebrating success
At Great Moor Infant School we have pledged our commitment to co-production by signing the Stockport Co-production Charter. We work collaboratively with Parents and Carers throughout the SEND process. All of our children are encouraged to share their feelings on their care too.
We have access to many agencies in Stockport (Speech and Language Service, Sensory Support Service, Healthy Young Minds, Primary Jigsaw, Behaviour Support Service, Learning Support Service, The Autism Partnership, Ethnic Diversity Service, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Educational Psychology, Stockport Family and medical professionals for example!) and may call upon their expertise to support your child if required. As always this would be agreed collaboratively.
For more detail about the type of support your child may receive if they require it please follow the link to the Entitlement Framework.
